The words of Hager, are:- "In like manner the sacrificial mitre of the Chinese Emperor (the Pontifex Maximus of his nation), which was of old represented under this form [and then the above figure is given](- Philos. Transact. at tab. 41-), bearing a strong resemblance to the Roman Episcopal Mitre," &c., &c.
